Thousands of protesters under the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement marched from the Dhaka University Central Library through multiple areas of the capital before blocking the Shahbagh intersection for nearly one hour, demanding the abolition of the reinstated government job quota system. The blockade halted vehicular movement before protesters withdrew peacefully. Prior to dispersing, coordinator Nahid Islam announced a nationwide 'Bangla Blockade' programme for 7 July and reaffirmed the continuation of class and examination boycotts.
