Anti-Discriminatory Students Movement coordinator Sarjis Alam was instructed by hall-level Chhatra League leaders to leave Amar Ekushey Hall at 12 am midnight because of his role in the quota movement. Hundreds of students from Amar Ekushey Hall and other Dhaka University halls gathered to prevent Sarjis Alam from leaving the dormitory, demonstrating solidarity with the anti-quota movement leader. The eviction attempt was later withdrawn and Alam returned to the hall.
